Active membership shall be granted to any individual actively engaged in or recently retired from directing bands or teaching wind or percussion instrumental music and who is a member of the North Carolina Music Educators Association.
Each member of the organization must pay the $10 annual membership fee and complete the online registration form before he/she is eligible to receive any of the information from the district or have students participate in any district events. The deadline for membership for each academic year is October 1st. After this deadline, the membership dues are $75. Membership is not considered current until BOTH the online registration has been submitted and payment has been received. In order for students to participate in any district event, such as All-District Auditions, MPA, or Solo and Ensemble MPA, the director must be a paid member TWO WEEKS prior to the early registration deadline for that particular event.
