ALL-REGION JAZZ ENSEMBLES

Auditions are open to students in grades 6-8 (for the middle school band) and 9-12 (for the high school band) who are currently enrolled in a public or private school in the state of North Carolina, and who are a part of the jazz ensemble/program at their school at least one semester during the school year in which they audition. The student's band director must be a member in good standing in MENC and NCMEA, and is required to attend the audition with their students and be willing to adjudicate during the auditions. Students may audition on one instrument only. Students and directors are strongly encouraged to join the International Association for Jazz Education.

• We have added a middle school band! Students in grades 6-8 are eligible to audition.
  
• Students are not required to memorize scales for the Eastern Region auditions. However, if they are eligible to audition for the All-State band, they will be required to memorize the scales for that audition.
